“Death Photography & Funeral Biscuits: 19th Century Mourning” Lecture

July 12 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

During a time when your life expectancy at birth was 45, the Victorians created many rituals around grief and mourning. What was the life expectancy for children in the 19th Century? How many people died during the Civil War from disease alone? What did Queen Victoria have to do with it? Learn more about these traditions during this one-hour lecture.

This lecture is part of our Summer Lecture Series at the Square and is free to the public. This program will take place in the South Classroom of the Lath House Pavillion.
